1938 radio/TV academic program started with a single course in radio drama

1940's
1942 Carrier Current WOUB 550 Kc (later WOUI) from Ewing Hall on December 15

1947 Radio operation moves to a quonset hut.

1948 Board approves filing of a FM application with the FCC

1949 WOUI-FM begins broadcasts at 10 watts on 91.3 mc, the first FM college
station in Ohio on December 13

1950's
1953 WOUI-FM moves to the new Speech and Theater Building (now Kantner Hall)

1955 First vidicon camera purchased for student training

1956 Second television camera acquired

1957 WOUB-AM began operation at 100 watts, simulcasts with WOUI-FM

1958 WOUB-AM power to 250 watts, carrier current station abandoned

1959 First closed circuit television system activated
