1997 June, HEMS name changed to Ohio Learning Network (OLN)

1997 September, OLN initiated seven Compressed Video (CV) sites

1998 Fall, RHE server (Dell 4300) installed

1997/98 Winter, FM Network Hub became digital

1998 Summer, DALET (a centralized audio file server with 12 sites) was installed

1998 Fall, Asynchronous Transfer Mode CV system installed in cooperation with ETSEO

1998 Winter, Department of Administrative Services installed a SONIC CV site in Athens

1998 December, New Digital Cameras installed/ digital still store

1998 Winter, OET changed from microwave to fiber feeds

1999 Spring, OLN Central Classroom CV site installed

1999 August, Pro Track program, scheduling and operations shared software implemented

1999 Fall, CV site with OhioLEARN in Alden library started (OLN networked in Nov.)

1999 Fall, OLN changed to SEOLN then Ohio University Learning Network (OULN)

1999 December, All transmitters are remote controlled from TV master control


2000 Spring, Digital Video server and digital tape machines installed

2000 Summer, New WOUB transmitter installed (dual NTSC and DTV)
